“PROJECT HEALTHY LIVING” COMES TO HOPATCONG
The E. Louise Childs Memorial Library at 21 Sparta Road, Hopatcong, is the site of an upcoming “Project Healthy Living” course sponsored by the Sussex County Division of Senior Services in collaboration with NORWESCAP RSVP, Newton Memorial Hospital, the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services – Division of Aging and Community Services, and the NJ Department of Human Services - Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services. The FREE six-week course for seniors who face the challenges of dealing with chronic conditions and/or their caregivers, is supplemented with a manual, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions,” that is provided to each participant at no cost.
Participants will meet on Wednesdays from May 21 through June 25 at 1 pm. Each week, the 2 ½ hour, interactive class led by a team of Peer Leaders, who are also dealing with chronic conditions themselves or as caregivers, will assist participants in building the skills necessary to manage symptoms; communicate effectively with healthcare professionals; develop healthy lifestyles including good nutrition and exercise; alleviate fear, anger and frustration; make daily tasks easier; and get more out of life.
Pre-registration is required. Contact the Sussex County Division of Seniors Services for additional information or to reserve your place in the class. 973-579-0555 or firstname.lastname@example.org
