The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services in partnership with Newton Medical Center will be acknowledging World Alzheimer's Day with a one-hour educational program "Keeping Your Mind Sharp."

FREE Memory Screenings in Recognition of World Alzheimer's Day

(Newton, NJ) - The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services in partnership with Newton Medical Center will be acknowledging World Alzheimer's Day, Wednesday, September 11, 2013, by offering seniors a one-hour educational program "Keeping Your Mind Sharp." A FREE Memory Screening will be performed by a qualified healthcare professional from Newton Medical Center.

The event will take place at the E. Louise Childs Library, 21 Sparta Road, Stanhope, NJ. Memory Screenings will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. "Keeping Your Mind Sharp" will be presented by a HealthEASE Educator from the Division of Senior Services at 12:30 p.m. for the convenience of those who would like to attend before or after their memory screenings.

The results of the screening do not represent a diagnosis. Individuals who score poorly or those with normal scores but are still concerned are advised to follow-up with their physician or another qualified healthcare professional. Results of the Memory Screening are strictly confidential.
