Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the sentencing of Dana Rost, who appeared before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on October 6, 2017.
Rost, age 28 of Hopatcong, was sentenced to 3 years of probation with 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility, having credit for between 81 and 92 days of time served. Rost was ordered to submit to TASC and mental health evaluations and follow any and all recommendations made from same, submit a DNA sample, write letters of apology to the victims, and pay fines and fees totaling $465.00.
Rost pled guilty on August 21, 2017, to Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Theft, both third degree crimes, and Contempt, a fourth degree crime.
The defendant used a stolen credit card to make purchases on April 9, 2017, in Hopatcong and Mt. Arlington. Rost also took items from a Hopatcong home on May 6, 2017, and violated a condition of a Pretrial Release Order on July 18, 2017.
Rost was represented by Shaun Morgan Russell, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Nikoletta Agouras.
