Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch announced the entry of guilty pleas to accusations before the Honorable William J. McGovern III, J.S.C., at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on August 21, 2017, by James Muller.
Muller, age 27 of Hampton, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a third degree crime, and Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest, all fourth degree crimes, and Driving Under the Influence, a motor vehicle offense. Sentencing is presently anticipated for October 6, 2017.
In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking a Hampton Township resident’s car without permission and driving while intoxicated on January 16, 2017, and to entering a Hampton Township home on January 18, 2017, and causing damage in excess of $500.00. He also admitted to fleeing from a Newton Police Officer on April 15, 2017.
The cases were investigated by Tpr. A. Y. Cheng, Tpr. J.C. Rodriguez, and Tpr. J. A. Celi of the New Jersey State Police and Special Officer Donald Donofrio of the Newton Police Department.
Muller was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Donald F. Cox, Jr.
