Makers Day at the Branches

While Main Library is hosting the majority of the Makers Day programs, each Branch of the Sussex County Library has hands-on plans of their own.

  • Dennis – Make beautiful paper flowers – no watering required.
  • Dorothy Henry – Make your own bookmarks.
  • Franklin – Take the art of paper folding to a whole new level with origami animals, flowers and figurines.
  • Louise Childs – From dream catchers to peel and stick sand art, an assortment of crafts for all ages.
  • Sussex-Wantage – Tissue paper flowers will occupy the busy hands of kids and teens, while adults are invited for something more mindful – My Story/Your Story. Anyone familiar with Storycorps® will recognize this unique opportunity to sit down in a neutral, quiet space, and record a conversation that can be emailed to your own account and that of anyone with whom your thoughts should be shared. If you don't have a recording device (e.g., smart phone) library staff will help you use the iPad, and save and send the sound file.

Makers Day at Home

Yes Makers Day is all about doing things rather than reading about them. But a few printed instructions and some inspirational photos never hurt.
