Release Date: April 11, 2018

BackPack Snacks for Kids

WNNJ 103.7, WSUS 102.3, and MAX 106.3 hosted the third annual BackPack Snacks for Kids food drive at the Sparta Stop & Shop on March 24 and 25, 2018. This year the drive collected 5,020 pounds of food and $2,652.00 in monetary donations to help support the BackPack Snacks for Kids effort through the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services Food Pantry which serves Sussex County residents in need. WNNJ 103.7 personalities Gary Cee, Borasio, and Tony Paige and WSUS 102.3 personalities Steve Andrews and Steve Allen broadcasted live during the weekend while loyal listeners shopped and donated thousands of pounds of food.

BackPack Snacks for Kids

The BackPack Snacks for Kids program provides Sussex County children with meals and snacks for the weekend. Items such as meals in a can, oatmeal, soup, granola bars, and applesauce are packaged in snack sized containers and distributed to children in participating school districts to bring home at the end of the week. Donations from the BackPack Snacks for Kids food drive go directly to children in need. This valuable program would not be possible without the continued support of WNNJ 103.7, WSUS 102.3, MAX 106.3, and our generous community.
