Notice of Truck Mounted ULV Spraying
The Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services, Office of Mosquito Control has scheduled a truck mounted ULV application on
Thursday August 13, 2015 between the hours of 6PM and 10PM
The Office of Mosquito Control will be using the product Fyfanon ULV Mosquito Insecticide EPA Reg # 67760-34 with an active ingredient of Malathion.
The application will be made in Hampton and Stillwater Townships on the following roads: Portions of Copley Road, Hampton Road, Mount Benevolence Road and Owassa Road; Communities of Crandon Lakes, Lower Crandon Lakes and Lake Plymouth.
This is a mist spray using Ultra Low Volume (ULV) from a pickup truck mounted sprayer. Application rate is approximately 0.56 fluid ounces per acre (the equivalent of 1/3 of a shot glass over 43,560 square feet).
The application is to target Adult Mosquitoes to reduce nuisance populations and prevent the spread of West Nile Virus.
