Participants Sought for Diabetes Self-Management Program
(Newton, NJ) Adults of any age, who are living with Diabetes, as well as caregivers of loved ones who experience these challenges, are invited to participate in Diabetes Self-Management Program, a FREE six-week workshop series sponsored by the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services. During the 2 ½ hour sessions each week, participants will learn how to identify and manage symptoms, ensure proper foot care, manage fear, anger and frustration, develop healthy eating and safe exercising habits, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and possibly reduce or eliminate unnecessary hospitalizations in order to "get more out of life." The program includes a FREE manual, "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions."
Diabetes Self-Management Program will be offered Wednesdays, October 17, 2012 through November 21, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Sussex County Community College, One College Hill Road Newton, NJ.
