FREE Memory Screenings in Recognition of World Alzheimer's Day
(Newton, NJ) - The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services in partnership with Newton Medical Center will be acknowledging World Alzheimer's Day, Tuesday, September 25, 2012, by offering seniors a one-hour educational program "Keeping Your Mind Sharp." FREE Memory Screenings will be performed by a qualified health care professional from Newton Medical Center.
The event will take place at the E. Louise Childs Library, 21 Sparta Road, Stanhope, NJ. Memory Screenings will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. "Keeping Your Mind Sharp" will be presented by a HealthEASE Educator from the Division of Senior Services at 2 p.m. for the convenience of those who would like to attend before or after their memory screenings.
The results of the screening do not represent a diagnosis. Individuals who score poorly or those with normal scores but are still concerned are advised to follow-up with their physician or another qualified healthcare professional. Results of the Memory Screening are strictly confidential.
