Rob Moorhead and WNNJ launched the first Stuff the Bus campaign in 2008 at the new Quick Chek location in Lafayette to help restock the empty shelves at the Social Services food pantry. Over the past three years, Moorhead, WNNJ, and Quick Chek have teamed up during Thanksgiving week to raise over 51,200 pounds of food and $4,845.00 in monetary donations, in addition to educating people in Sussex County about the issues of hunger in their own communities.

A host of generous donors including businesses, organizations, schools, and individuals ranging from very young children to those ninety years young have braved the cold for three years in a row to help their fellow neighbors. Even long term care residents of the Sussex County Homestead and Bentley Assisted Living facilities, some having to use wheelchairs, walkers or canes, personally visited the Lafayette Quick Chek to make their donations.

This year, Quick Chek will begin accepting donations on the 18th of November at the locations listed above during their hours of operation. Quick Chek will also be providing a free cup of coffee to each person who makes a donation. Residents and listeners can also "Stuff the Bus" at the locations listed above from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday, the 21st and 22nd of November.

The Department of Human Services, Division of Social Services, Rob Moorhead, WNNJ, WSUS, and Quick Chek would like to thank our generous community in advance for their continued support and would like to wish everyone a blessed holiday season.
