"TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HEALTH" IN STANHOPE
(Stanhope, NJ) The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is sponsoring “Take Control of Your Health,” a nationally recognized and proven program, at the E. Louise Childs Memorial Library, 21 Sparta Avenue, Stanhope, NJ. “Take Control of Your Health” is designed to enhance the wellness of those dealing with chronic conditions personally or as caregivers. The six workshop series is scheduled on Mondays, March 22 thru April 26, 2011, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sessions are 2 ½ hours each and facilitated by trained volunteer peer leaders who are also dealing with chronic conditions. Participants will learn practical strategies and techniques for dealing with the pain, fatigue, frustration, and other symptoms shared by those experiencing chronic conditions regardless of their particular disease/disorder. They will be empowered to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and create action plans that will further enable them to take charge of their situations. “Take Control of Your Health” is offered at NO COST and available to adults of any age.
