Sussex County Freeholder Deputy Director Jeffrey Parrott, Freeholder Harold Wirths, Freeholder Phillip Crabb, and Freeholder-elect Richard Zeoli and Division of Social Services Director Carol Novrit attended the WNNJ “Moorhead in the Morning" Diner Tour at Double S Diner on December 18, 2009, to present Certificates of Recognition to Rob Moorhead and Ken O’Brien of 103.7 WNNJ Radio. Freeholder Crabb presented Certificates to Rob Moorhead and Ken O’Brien in recognition of their support and promotion of the Sussex County Division of Social Services “Stuff the Bus” food drive. During the December 16, 2009 Freeholder meeting, Certificates of Recognition were presented to Maria Lake and Steve Andrews of 102.3 WSUS Radio in recognition of their support and promotion of the “Stuff the Bus” food drive.
Rob Moorhead held the first “Stuff the Bus” food drive in 2008 raising almost 6 tons of food. His efforts to fill the pantry and raise awareness about hunger sparked several community based “Stuff the Bus” events throughout 2009. The 2009 “Stuff the Bus” food drive raised over 10 tons of food and was a success primarily due to the dedication and commitment of 103.7 WNNJ’s Morning Show Host Rob Moorhead and Program Director Ken O’Brien and 102.3 WSUS’ Morning Show Host Steve Andrews and Program Director Maria Lake, in addition to the generosity of the people of Sussex County and surrounding communities. The success of “Stuff the Bus” is also attributed to the Vice President of Sales & Merchandising of the Quick Chek Corporation John Schaninger for providing the prime Quick Chek locations of Lafayette and Wantage to hold the event.
