White Nose Syndrome in Bats
Release Date: January 29, 2009

The condition has been coined as white-nose syndrome due to the presence of a white fungal growth around the muzzles and wings of affected animals.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has asked that if residents do find dead bats outside, they can notify the DEP at (908) 638-4127. Residents should not handle bats with their bare hands.
