"BE WISE ABOUT YOUR MEDICATIONS!"
The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services and the Sussex County Municipal Alliance Program are sponsoring a seminar for senior citizens entitled “Be Wise About Your Medications”. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmstead Golf & Country Club, 88 Lawrence Road, Lafayette, NJ.
Educational and informational programs include: “Safe Medication Use” presented by Linda Witzal, Director of Pharmacy, Partners Pharmacy; “Food, Nutritional Supplements and Medication Effectiveness” presented by Christine Orr, Registered Dietitian, Newton Memorial Hospital; “Medication, Alcohol and Driving Skills” presented by Corporal Dan Storey and Officer Samantha Schilling, Sussex County Sheriff’s Department; “Medications & Products in Your Home that Can Put Kids at Risk” presented by Becky Carlson, Director of Prevention Services and Tina Thompson, Senior Sense Coordinator, Center for Prevention and Counseling. Representatives from the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and Social Security will be on hand to answer questions re: prescription assistance programs including Medicare Part D, Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD), Senior Gold, and other options.
The program includes a full buffet breakfast, informational exhibits, and promotional give-a-ways. The fee is $5.00 per person. Prepaid reservations are required.
