Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Vouchers Available
The Sussex County Division of Senior Services has vouchers available for eligible seniors to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farm stands. Seniors must complete an application and provide proof of eligibility. Seniors must be Sussex County residents who are 60 years of age or older and meet the following income guidelines:
Single: $19,240.00 annually; $1,604 monthly; $370 weekly
Married: $25,900.00 annually; $2,159.00 monthly; $499.00 weekly
Seniors should note that the PAAD card is no longer acceptable as proof of eligibility. A 2007 income tax return, social security statement, valid Medicaid card, valid food stamp verification or bank statement are acceptable proof of income eligibility. Those who qualify will receive four (4) five dollar ($5.00) vouchers. Vouchers can be picked up at the Sussex County Division of Senior Services, One Spring Street – 2nd Floor, Newton. They will also be distributed through various senior clubs, nutrition sites and senior housing sites. Eligible seniors who are homebound may receive vouchers through a proxy.
